While the name probably gives it away, it really is uncanny how the evident characteristics of the "Political Narcissist" mirrors some of the clinical symptoms of the personality disorder. While every politician is trained to protect their public image, one becomes a "Political Narcissist" when a politician starts to “believe their own hype”, or when maintaining their personal narrative becomes more important than fulfilling the responsibilities of their given political position.
When I think "Political Narcissist", I think of Sen. Elizabeth Warren, dubbed by President Trump and others as "Pocahontas". It was so important for Warren to prove her detractors wrong that she ruined her own credibility and offended many when she proudly proclaimed her 1/1027th Native American ancestry.
